Rayburn 355SFW Solid Fuel & Wood Cooker

As part of the Rayburn 300 Series, this cooker is ideal for busy families or those who entertain regularly, as it offers enhanced cooking functionality.  The Rayburn 355SFW is a solid fuel fired cooker with a larger 5-pan hotplate (for boiling, simmering), complemented by a large main oven (great for roasting and baking) and a large warming oven.

It is designed to offer the choice of cooking, hot water, and central heating; furthermore, the Rayburn 355SFW has the largest output in the 300 range and is ideal for those with more demanding heating requirements - a 13kW boiler for domestic hot water and central heating (up to 8 radiators).  It also provides a steady 3-4kW of heat to the kitchen.

How It Works - Off Grid Cooking, Heating & Hot Water

Rayburn SFW (solid fuel) cookers have remarkable performance.  From cold, the boiler will reach optimal temperature in around 30 minutes and the cooker reaches simmering temperature within about 45 minutes. The solid fuel cookers are designed for continuous running and can burn wood and/or coal. The cooker is easy to use. Heat can be diverted from the cooker to the boiler or vice versa as required for heating or cooking.

Wood burning is better for the environment because the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is the same as that absorbed by the tree during growth.

Other recommended fuels are smokeless coal, bituminous coal (contains less carbon) and peat, making it perfect for today’s environmentally concerned cooks.  By replacing some of your energy needs with natural fuels you are minimising the cost and helping to reduce your carbon footprint.  This model is dynamite in a small package in terms of models available, fuel options and space-saving designs.
